[[Kula Shaker – Great Dictator (Of The Free World)]]
Siccome negli ultimi giorni vi ho ammannito post seri e lunghi, oggi vi do tregua e mi limito alla musica, anche perché sono troppo impegnato (c’è da mettere in frigo lo champagne per il fallimento di Alitalia).
Prima di passare al brano di oggi, però, devo comunque confermare le voci che stanno sconvolgendo in questi giorni il mondo della musica internazionale: sì, è uscito un nuovo disco dei Metallica, e sì, contiene un brano intitolato The Unforgiven III. Avendo esaurito qualsiasi ispirazione musicale con il Black Album, come tutti i gruppi “maturi” hanno cominciato a fotocopiarsi all’infinito; almeno lo ammettono sin dai titoli.
Le fotocopie, comunque, alle volte sono pure piacevoli, almeno per i fan duri e puri. Per dire, io devo essere rimasto l’unico ad apprezzare i Kula Shaker, visto che il loro terzo disco è uscito addirittura l’anno scorso e fino a tre giorni fa non l’avevo mai sentito menzionare. Anche esso è una copia fedele e un po’ stanca dei due precedenti (che, per chiunque apprezzi la musica di fine ’60 – inizio ’70, sono dei capolavori). Comunque, erano nove anni che non li si ascoltava e quindi per un po’ è un gradevole ritorno; allego uno dei singoli, il cui testo è stato selezionato mediante un concorso tra le scuole elementari cubane (solo i primi due anni). La prossima volta però vi posto un artista sconosciuto, promesso!
